Delete Your Account & Data

Sereno Planner — Request account deletion and data removal.

We're sorry to see you go. This page explains how to request that your Sereno Planner account and all associated data be permanently deleted, what happens during the deletion process, and what data may be retained.

1. How to Request Account Deletion

You can request deletion of your account and all associated data in two ways:

Option A: In-App Deletion

  1. Open the Sereno Planner app on any platform (web, iOS, or Android).
  2. Navigate to SettingsAccount.
  3. Tap or click “Delete Account”.
  4. Confirm your choice when prompted. You will be asked to verify your identity.
  5. You will receive a confirmation email once the deletion process has begun.

Option B: Email Request

If you cannot access the app, send an email to:

privacy@serenoplanner.com

Please include the following in your email so we can locate your account:

  • The email address associated with your Sereno Planner account.
  • The subject line: “Account Deletion Request”.
  • Optionally, the reason you are leaving — this helps us improve.

We will respond within 5 business days to confirm your request and begin the deletion process.

2. Deletion Timeline

  • Immediately upon confirmation: Your account is deactivated and you will no longer be able to log in.
  • Within 30 days: All personal data and User Content is permanently deleted from our active databases.
  • Within 90 days: Data is purged from encrypted backups and log archives.

3. What Data Is Deleted

When your account is deleted, the following data is permanently removed:

  • Account Information — Email address, name, profile picture, and authentication credentials.
  • Google SSO link — The connection between your Google account and Sereno Planner is severed.
  • Task and Planning Data — All tasks, subtasks, lists, tags, priorities, due dates, time tracking data, and daily reflections.
  • Calendar Connections — Any Google Calendar authorizations are revoked. No calendar data was ever stored on our servers.
  • Preferences and Settings — Burnout hour settings, notification preferences, and app customization.
  • Usage and Device Data — Session logs, interaction patterns, and device information tied to your identity.

4. What Data May Be Retained

In certain limited circumstances, some data may be retained after your account is deleted:

Any retained data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and is not used for any purpose other than those listed above.

5. What Happens to Your Subscription

If you have an active premium subscription:

  • Deleting your account does not automatically cancel your subscription. You must cancel your subscription separately through the platform where you purchased it (see below).
  • If you delete your account without cancelling, your subscription will continue to renew until cancelled.
  • Once your account is deleted, you will lose access to premium features even if your subscription remains active.

How to Cancel Your Subscription

  • Web/Desktop (Polar.sh): Cancel through your account settings on the Sereno web platform or contact support@serenoplanner.com.
  • iOS (Apple App Store): Go to your Apple ID → Subscriptions → Sereno Planner → Cancel. See Apple's guide.
  • Android (Google Play): Open the Google Play Store → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Sereno Planner → Cancel. See Google's guide.

For refund eligibility, see our Refund Policy.

6. Before You Delete

Before requesting account deletion, you may want to:

  • Export your data — You can export your tasks and lists through Settings → Export Data in the app.
  • Cancel your subscription — As noted in Section 5, deleting your account does not cancel your subscription.
  • Revoke Google Calendar access — If you connected Google Calendar, you may also want to revoke access through your Google Account permissions.

7. Questions or Issues

If you have trouble deleting your account, run into any issues, or have questions about the deletion process, please contact us:

Email: privacy@serenoplanner.com

We aim to respond to all deletion-related requests within 2 business days.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have additional rights regarding your personal data under laws such as the GDPR (EU/EEA), CCPA (California), or the Data Privacy Act (Philippines). These may include the right to access, correct, or port your data before deletion. For more details, see our Privacy Policy (Section 7: Your Rights and Choices).
